Arc Flash

NFPA 70E
Arc flash is a sudden, violent explosion that occurs when an electrical current leaps across a gap in damaged or worn equipment, or to nearby items or people. The results are often violent and when a human is in close proximity to the arc flash, serious injury and even death can occur.

With arc flash, what you don't know CAN kill you. Arc flash incidents can impact both experienced maintenance personnel and pose a danger to an employee or customer who is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Aschinger identifies arc flash risks by reviewing:

  • Electrical maintenance procedures and frequencies
  • De-energized and energized maintenance procedures
  • Trending of maintenance data
  • Personal protective equipment requirements
A program is outlined that is specifically designed for your facility. Aschinger identifies and catalogs arc flash risks and recommends corrective measures.

Aschinger then can train your employees on procedures for working around and maintaining equipment that presents a risk. We can also recommend, source, and fit personal protective equipment to be used when servicing equipment that presents an arc flash risk.
